“When I signed up for Ironman Lake Placid, I had zero experience in cycling or swimming and only a background in marathon running. I booked the race on a whim, and while I was determined to finish, I had no idea what the training journey would bring. What I didn’t expect was the emotional rollercoaster - the highs of breakthrough workouts, the lows of self-doubt, and everything in between. Looking back, I can say with absolute certainty, I could not have done it without Cari.

I’m a very data-driven person, and before choosing a coach, I spoke to several others. I thought I needed someone local, but the more I dug in, the clearer it became that wasn’t what mattered. Some coaches I interviewed were actively racing professionally and it was obvious coaching was a side hustle, meaning attention would be limited. Others were extremely “old-school,” with no interest in leveraging today’s level of data and detail. When I spoke with Cari, however, it immediately clicked. Her vibe, her approach, and her depth of knowledge made me certain she was the right choice.

From the moment I started working with her, Cari became so much more than a coach. She has the perfect balance of science-based training, hands-on guidance, and genuine care. Our weekly check-ins kept me grounded. She knew exactly when to push me and when to pull me back. She analyzed every detail, from nutrition strategies to swim technique (including personalized swim plans and video reviews), while always making sure training fit around my work, marriage, and social life. She was also available 24/7 by text, and never once made me feel like a burden.

One of Cari’s greatest strengths is her foresight. Early on, I wanted to make Ironman my first triathlon, but she encouraged me to do a local sprint race instead. That decision was crucial. I learned invaluable lessons, including how to manage a swim panic, which prepared me to succeed at Lake Placid. She also insisted I train in challenging conditions — I’ll never forget a long ride in torrential rain she “made” me do. At the time it felt brutal, but when race day brought downpours, I was ready while others struggled.

Cari’s support extended far beyond training plans. She guided me through equipment purchases, taught me calming techniques, built a power and heart rate strategy, and helped me prepare mentally for race day. She was even there in person at Lake Placid offering advice, reassurance, and encouragement at every turn including the finish line. Her experience racing the event herself was invaluable in shaping my race-day strategy.

Thanks to Cari, I didn’t just finish Ironman Lake Placid, I finished in 10:36 and placed among the top athletes in my age group. She highlighted my strengths, worked on my weaknesses, and made sure I was 100% race-ready.

Cari isn’t just a great coach - she’s a good tier coach who cares deeply about her athletes’ success and well-being. If you want to go further than you thought possible, there’s no one better to guide you and no better investment. “

“Training with Vanessa for just four months made a huge impact on my triathlon journey. Her weekly energy and genuine enthusiasm kept me motivated, and her feedback on specific workouts pushed me to improve. Her guidance after one particular tough run gave me the mental edge I needed, which I also used to push through a brutal race day. What’s most encouraging is that Vanessa also trains for her own races, so she truly understands what her athletes are going through. I know she’ll always be there if I need her expert advice in the future — that’s just who she is.”

“I've been using Tridot on and off for about 4 years, and started working with Ryan earlier this year (2022) after I met him at Tridot pool school (he was my lane coach). I wasn't sure how a remote coach would work, but it's been great. I'm able to send videos, and he puts them on our shared screen and points out exactly where my form is going wrong. From the start, Ryan identified a problem I didn't realize I had...fueling. He pushed me to get the right nutrients in during and after workouts, and I found I recovered quickly even after hard workouts. I just completed my first Ironman70.3, and this is the first time I've trained for a long race without an overuse injury (I am 67). In the weeks leading up to my race, Ryan talked through race strategy with me several times to make sure I absorbed it. Ryan is generous with his time, and his knowledge and listening skills make him a top-notch coach. Looking forward to working and setting goals with him for next year. “

“Ryan has been a responsive coach and has challenged me from the start. I had a brief coaching experience before Ryan and found he was much better with communication and in helping me dial in some of the challenges I have faced as an athlete like exercise nutrition, mobility, and working through injuries like sprained ankles. He has effectively altered my training plan to accommodate injury and return to full training. He has done a good job of getting to know me which has helped him push me when I need to be pushed. His years of triathlon racing have been an invaluable experience that adds value even for someone like me who isn't new to the sport. I started as a sprint and olympic distance racer, but after working with Ryan for 5 years, he has coached me to a qualification at The Championship, the world championship 70.3 distance race hosted by Challenge Family. I couldn't have done it without him.”
